I've joined an online writing course via the Open University this week. It is an eight week course, with a minimum commitment of three hours a week. Having already done one of these courses, though, I know I will probably be spending twice that much time on it because of how fascinating some of the background reading can get if you follow all the optional links.
The course is run by a company called FutureLearn. The courses are all free, though if you want a certificate of participation (not really worth the paper its printed on, to be honest) it will cost you £24 plus an undisclosed amount of P&P. Clearly the courses are funded at least partly via this system.
Needless to say, part of the requirement of the course involves completing writing exercises;.there is a 1200 character limit for submitting via the FutureLearn website, so they recommend using a blog for longer works. I shall be using this particular blog.because it links to one of my newer writing pseudonyms and doesn't as yet have a real 'shape'.
This blog is primarily intended to look at 'evil' characters, their motivations and psychology etc., but not all of my writing exercises for this course will follow this theme.I'll do my best not to write about petunias and fluffy clouds though. I hope you will enjoy travelling with me as I participate in this course. Please do feel free to provide constructive criticism.
I write in a variety of genres, but one of these is erotica, so please note the warnings on each entry, and be aware that this blog is intended for adults only.
I also tackle themes relevant to being a fat, ageing, bisexual woman with mental health issues. Haters, don't bother hating, just go elsewhere.
